The Treasury's Next Chapter

I prefer stewardship to ownership. Where ownership is all about possession, stewardship is about being responsible, protective. And when I opened The Treasury in 2018, I knew I wanted it to be something larger than myself. Rather than take on an owner mentality that fed my personal ego, I have worked hard to see The Treasury as a community I am meant to hold in my trust for a time, accountable to both current members and women for generations to come.

Yes, I'm the owner by definition (certainly makes an email signature simpler) but The Treasury community is yours

In the past five and a half years, I've hosted hundreds of events and gatherings—from small round table talks to weekend-long retreats and mini conferences. I've facilitated countless mastermind meetings where women made incredible personal and professional breakthroughs. I've literally sat on the floor with women who were at a breaking point and didn't know where else to go. I've celebrated women on the top of their personal mountains and I've grieved with women in their valleys.

And I've been given in return so much more than I could even give. I opened The Treasury as a side hustle–a naive mom of a toddler with zero business experience. I've received overwhelming support as I ditched the day job, added two more kids to my family and navigated all the challenges of entrepreneurship. I've failed hard and been incredibly flawed but I've been received with so much grace and compassion from this community.

Part of being a good steward is knowing when it's time to transfer that stewardship to someone else. Now is that time. I'm selling The Treasury to Nova Fleske, a local entrepreneur who has more wisdom and experience to share than I can even fit on this page. She's been an incredible source of support to me personally and knows The Treasury well. Nova and her husband Eric own the building we lease here on Film Row. Without their encouragement and advice back in 2018, The Treasury would never have gotten off the spreadsheet into a physical space.

Nova's belief in my business model gave me the confidence to open. Her stepping into The Treasury gives countless other women the opportunity to benefit from her brilliance, wisdom and connections. I'm so thrilled for this transition and I can't wait to see what Nova does with this community.

As for me, I'm still around. I'll stay busy learning how to steward Hundred Magazine as best as I can, stewarding my family in this new season and continuing to do everything I can to make Oklahoma City a better place for women. I still want to hear from you, engage with you, connect you to the people who will make your life richer. Please reach out to me at hello@hundredmag.com any time. I'd love to get to know you better.
