It’s been more than a year now since we checked in with Treasure Lauren Warkentine. She’s now dominating the custom suit industry with the addition of women’s suits. Scroll for wisdom from this incredible female entrepreneur.

  • What you do: William & Lauren provides made to measure clothing for men and women with the mission to capture their personality and unleash their confidence.

  • Currently Reading: The Myth of a Christian Nation and The Silent Patient

  • How you take your coffee: Just straight black for me. I enjoy the occasional flavored latte but normally, a boring black drip lights my fire.

Best job you've ever had:

I mean William & Lauren, but I’ll play and give you my best besides William & Lauren :-) When I started my career at Computer-Rx I was in sales, I truly loved that job. Basically I sold software to  independent pharmacies across the nation.

Pharmacists are such incredible people that get into the profession to serve patients, being able to solve problems for them so they had more time at home with their families and actually serving patients verse fighting the systems and red tape. It truly was such a great job that combined my love of problem solving, entrepreneurs and relationships. I had so much fun, learned so much and made so many lasting relationships.

Worst job you've ever had:

I really haven’t had a ton of bad jobs per se, but when I was in high school I worked at a tanning salon. You can imagine the stories…

Favorite tool you use for work (digital or otherwise):

Probably Later. Being able to batch my social and schedule it has freed up so much capacity. As a solopreneur before Later I felt like social was controlling me. I love engaging on social, but with Later it doesn’t feel like it consumes me anymore and I can spend way more energy doing everything else.

How do you prefer to start your day?

This makes me sound so old, but it’s my sacred time. I love to start my morning with a cup of coffee and the newspaper- not digitally- physically turning the pages makes me happy.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

This question really was a challenge to me because I feel I have received so much great advice from so many incredible people I’m beyond lucky to have in my life.

I kept coming back to the general way my parents raised me, the constant advice in forms of wisdom and at times silence- to follow my gut and bet on myself.

What problem does The Treasury solve for you?

The surface solution the treasury solves is space to work and to meet clients. The solution it really solves I didn’t know I had is easily the community. I feel I have the best built in “coworkers” I get to learn from and socialize with some of the most inspiring women in the city. All the events, education and people truly keep me going and are a reason I will always be a treasury member. It’s so much more then a space.

How do you stay motivated?

Remembering why I started William & Lauren and the vision I have for the future keeps me pressing on. Also clients- they might seem small to some, but the smiles, the confidence, the reactions, the relationships, the stories that come from each client I get the chance to work with. That is 1000% what keeps me going.
