Crystal Ball: Social pro predicts 4 marketing trends for the year

Feeling behind in social media marketing? It’s nearly impossible to keep up with the ever-changing platforms, but social media marketer Kelsie Downs shared four things she sees will be super-valuable in 2023 and moving forward.

Authenticity

Authentic content, posts shared in real-time, personalities and bodies that social media users can relate to are now demanded from your audience. This isn’t new, but the consumer appetite for authenticity from both a brand and creator perspective is set even higher in 2023.

TikTok

TikTok is hardly a new player in social platforms, but that isn’t stopping its continuous growth. The app’s 30.8 million daily users are a reminder that brands must step up their game to make their mark on this terrain. We’ll see much more of a competitive playing field as brands recognize the need to take TikTok seriously.

Interactivity

Engagement is one thing. Now, the algorithm wants interaction. As apps roll out new features like reaction stickers and stitching…we see the need for a more interactive approach. These new tools serve as a new way to build relationships and start conversations with your audience.

Human Touch

While brands will generally continue to recognize the importance of a presence on social media, in 2023 we will see them finally embrace a more human approach to the channel. This will manifest in two different strategies and the most innovative brands will incorporate both, deploying a seamless combination of user-generated content and influencer-generated content.
