February is The New January

Good news for anyone who’s feeling all over the place with their 2021 goal setting: February is the new January.

Yep, it’s true! That’s what Jenna Worthen said last year when she opened up our annual Working Mom Summit and I found so much comfort in it.

See, I had been so busy executing Christmas for my family and then rolling right into pulling off the Working Mom Summit that I’d really forgotten to even do any big picture planning for the year ahead. Realizing I didn’t have to let numbers on a calendar make me feel bad about myself, I chose that moment to sit down and hammer out some goals.

So now I’m here to encourage you the way Jenna encouraged us last year. Maybe you haven’t even opened your Vision page on your planner yet. Maybe you set goals that you already gave up on.

Stop.

Take a deep breath.

And start again.

Every month, day and even hour gives us an opportunity for a fresh start. For those who did set goals in January, now is a terrific time to revisit the wins and failures so far. One of our Treasures, Jantzen Miller, walked our community through her Graceful Goal Setting process this month and I love the prompts she uses to gauge each month. If you’d like to do these with me:

  • What are three wins from the past month?

  • What goals did I make progress on?

  • How did I make myself proud?

  • What adjustments or improvements should I make to be successful this coming month?

Happy goal-setting!
